Swinerton Builders, Director of Preconstruction
Cheryl Johnson is Director of Preconstruction for the Silicon Valley region for Swinerton Builders and has been with the company for over 20 years. Cheryl works closely with the project team and interfaces with Swinerton operations, estimating, and scheduling resources to ensure that the project is continually exceeding financial and schedule considerations. She is a graduate of California State University-Fresno with a BS in Industrial Technology, Construction Management. Cheryl has served on the Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley Board since 2016.
Emily Ransone is Co-Owner and Principal at SideMark, a leading office furniture dealer in the Bay Area. Emily has supported organizations as a speaker and facilitator including CoreNet, CREW, Lean In Circle and RED. Emily brings people together, as she fosters conversations to drive results for clients, industry partners, the SideMark team, and Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley. She is heading up the Paint the Town committee, RTSV’s annual fundraising event which brought in over $100,000 in 2018.
Avison Young, Associate
As an Associate at Avison Young, Derek Cuschieri specializes in Office and R&D landlord/tenant representation and investment sales. Derek previously worked as an Associate Broker at Transwestern and was a Superintendent with Built With Principle. He is a credentialled Real Estate Salesperson and speaks Italian. Derek has served on the Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley Board since 2018.
Mellon Consulting, Principal
As a Consultant at Mellon Consulting, Maureen Mellon helps teams define their vision, mission and strategy, creates business plans, and more. Previously, she was Sr. Director of Product Management with Neato Robotics and held the same position at Plastic Logic. Maureen worked on a PhD in Computer Networks and Systems at UCLA and holds a MSEE in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University. She joined the Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley Board in 2018.
Avison Young, Commercial Real Estate Advisor
Nick Baldwin is an Associate with Avison Young in their Silicon Valley office with a focus on Office Sales and Leasing, representing both tenant and landlord. Prior to joining Avison Young, Nick was on the property management team for Harvest Properties in downtown San Jose where he managed the daily operations of roughly 1 million square feet of Class A office space. He joined the RTSV Board in 2019. Nick enjoys traveling exercising, and spending time with his wife and dog. Having previously worked for the Oakland A’s, Oakland Raiders, and Golden State Warriors, Nick is a passionate Bay Area Sports fan and enjoys attending any and all sporting events in the area.
Tania De Villiers is an assurance director in the Pharma and Life Sciences practice at PwC. Tania has more than 20 years’ experience in auditing and advising companies ranging from venture-backed startups to large multinational public companies. She joined the Board in 2020.
Silicon Valley Mechanical, Inc., Project Engineer
Josh is a Project Engineer at Silicon Valley Mechanical, Inc. located in Santa Clara, CA. Prior to joining SVM, he was a Design Engineer with ACCO Engineered Systems in San Leandro. Josh graduated from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2017, and interned with University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors during his coursework. His volunteer experience includes being a Group Leader in community clean ups with Good Neighbor San Luis Obispo.
Gallegos Consulting, Principal
As a consultant/executive at Gallegos Consulting, Renee assesses businesses to improve the capability and performance of their people. Renee previously held executive positions in Fortune 500 company’s talent, training, organizational development, change management and performance management functions. Renee holds a MS in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University in Hawaii and a Bachelors in Special Education from Illinois State. She joined the Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley Board in 2019.
Adobe Systems, Senior Engineering Manager
Tulika Garg is a Senior Engineering Manager at Adobe and has been with the company for over 13 years. At Adobe, she is currently heading the Engineering for a multi-million dollar Enterprise Product. Tulika led the launch of this product from a prototype and built the team from scratch and today the product is the market leader in it’s segment and is used by Fortune 500 Companies to manage their large scale content libraries. Tulika did her undergrad in Physics and has a Master’s degree in Computer Science. She is currently pursuing Executive MBA from Wharton.
Alain Pinel Realtors, REALTOR®
Rebecca has over 25 years’ experience in sales and marketing executive in Silicon Valley and her experience with strategic negotiations brings her exceptional business expertise and customer service skills to the board. She is co-founder and Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Network Translation, Inc. (NTI), and was instrumental in business development and in negotiating the acquisition by Cisco Systems. Rebecca also ran her own consulting business, providing sales, marketing and business development direction to start-up companies. Involvement in the community and giving back are priorities.
Bank of the West, SVP, Business Banking Regional Manager
Steven Martinez is Senior Vice President and Business Banking Regional Manager with Bank of the West. In his role as Regional Manager, his team of Relationship Managers is responsible for meeting the financial needs of business clients in the San Francisco Bay area. He has worked for U.S. Bank as District Manager in the Silicon Valley and for Citibank in their Commercial Banking and Business Banking groups, both in New York and California. Steve also serves on the Board of Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley and the Advisory Board of Working Solutions. Additional volunteer activities have included working with Special Olympics, Junior Achievement, Second Harvest, TeenForce, Habitat for Humanity, and Pride Parade. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Southern California.
Salesforce, Global Marketing Operations
Chloe is a member of the global Salesforce.org Marketing team. Chloe leads operations for the Brand and Creative team, providing project management for the global creative team. Prior to Salesforce.org, Chloe was active in the South Bay nonprofit scene as development director and interim executive director at JW House in Santa Clara, board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and nonprofit consultant to a number of small to midsized organizations. Chloe is a proud AmeriCorps alumna with Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley, having served as a full-time volunteer from 2011-2013.
Community Legal Services, Director of Strategic Partnerships
Patricia Narciso is currently Director of Strategic Partnerships for Community Legal Servics in East Palo Alto. She previously served as the Director of Development & Marketing at the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose, and Director of Fund Development at The Health Trust. Patricia holds a MA in Latin American History and Politics from Stanford University, and a B.A. in Communications & Political Science from Syracuse University. Patricia joined the Board in 2018.
MarketRise, Inc., President
Paula Pineda is president and founder of MarketRise, Inc., specializing in marketing and communications consulting. Previous to starting MarketRise, Paula held several leadership positions including Catasys, VP of Marketing, SAP, Director of Channel Marketing, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Director of Business Development. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Santa Clara University and joined the Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley Board in 2018.
Cisco Systems, Program Manager
Jose brings experience in leading and managing teams and global programs, including experience in Operations, Continuous Process Improvement, product management, and business relations to the Board. He is highly flexible and adaptable to changing organizational needs, while being creative, resourceful, and results oriented.
Heritage Bank of Commerce, Vice President/ Relationship Manager HOA Specialty Banking
Leonel Soto’s banking career began 20 years ago with Heritage Bank of Commerce as a Cash Management Officer. Since then, he has managed client portfolios with two other community banks in the San Jose area, including Focus Business Bank. Currently Leonel is VP of HOA Specialty Banking. Leonel and his wife Kristina have been married for 11 years and are raising their 3 kids in San Jose. They enjoy their free time taking the kids to their sports and activities. Leonel has served on the Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley Board since 2017.
