National Estate Planning Awareness Week Image 1
This week we acknowledge the impact of planning ahead, through National Estate Planning Awareness Week from October 16th-22nd. This week of awareness was established by Congress with the help of the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils in reaction to over half of the U.S. population not having the necessary Will or Trust documents in place and current.

For our Mercury Newspaper reads you may have seen Jill On Money’s article last week on Estate Planning titled “Jill On Money: Estate Planning A Gift To You and Your Heirs”.  She shares her recent and personal journey as a Co-Executor of a Will and acknowledges the helpfulness of having these documents in a row in such a difficult and emotional time.

Additional reasons estate planning can be of such importance, include creating security for your family and loved ones, AND may be a meaningful option to benefit a nonprofit organization or charity that you care deeply about!

An established plan that is up to date can protect your assets and ensure your personal wishes are honored. An estate plan can include a will, charitable bequests, beneficiary designations, health directives and much more.

Any time is a perfect time to think about the future and with so much focus on the benefits this week, why not take charge now?

At RTSV we are happy to act as a resource to you or your loved ones. We have trusted estate planning resources on our website at www.rtsv.org and you’re welcome to contact our Executive Director, Deanne Everton, by phone or email at (408) 578-9519,
