Bev has been the Executive Director with Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley since 2001. Prior to joining Rebuilding Together, Bev was the Community Service and Public Policy Manager with Second Harvest Food Bank. She has worked in the nonprofit sector with agencies serving low-income families and seniors in Canada and the U.S for the last 25 years. Bev has a B.S. from Notre Dame du Namur University in Human Services and has resided in San Jose with her husband since 1992.
Deanne has been working in the nonprofit housing world for over 30 years. She started out in college working for Mountain T.O.P., an organization that provides home repair in the Appalachian Mountains, followed by her work with Habitat for Humanity in Bend, OR and as Northwest Regional Director. She loves being in touch with direct service for neighbors in need here at Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley—since 1999. Deanne oversees our Rebuilding Day, Team Build, and Safe at Home programs; she's also the affiliate bookkeeper and resident contractor! When she's not working with Rebuilding Together, she's busy keeping up with her family and the repairs around her own home.
Joining the team in 2015, Kevin McCarthy is a San Jose native and proud to have the opportunity to give back to his community by working at Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley. He is passionate about utilizing his 25 years’ experience in the construction industry to provide vital repair services to Rebuilding Together homeowners. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys golfing and all other outdoor activities.
Shannon joined the Rebuilding Together team in July of 2015 as the Client Services Manager. Prior to Rebuilding Together, she worked in relocation services, helping families who had been displaced from their homes get into temporary housing. She was born and raised in San Jose and feels privileged to be doing such positive work within her own community. She loves hiking, bike rides, and anything that allows her to spend time at the beach.
Sam joined the Rebuilding Together team in October of 2018. He is a recent graduate of Santa Clara University with a degree in Environmental Studies, and a minor in Spanish Studies. Before coming to Rebuilding Together, Sam served as a CivicSpark Americorps Fellow in Southern California, helping to address regional water management challenges. Now, Sam is thrilled to be a part of an organization that brings people together to transform lives. In his free time, Sam can be found on a surfboard, playing music, or exploring someplace wild.
Crystal was born and raised in San Jose and feels privileged to be able to help homeowners in need of home repairs and assistance. Prior to joining Rebuilding Together, Crystal worked as Office Coordinator at an outpatient mental health clinic. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband, cooking and exploring the Bay Area.
Art joined the Rebuilding Together team in December of 2017 as the South County Construction Coordinator. Prior to joining the team, Art retired after 25 years with the City of Morgan Hill. He has over 35 years of combined work experience in the nonprofit housing and rehabilitation community, city government and construction. His professional experience includes roles as Housing Rehab Coordinator at both the Housing Trust Silicon Valley and City of Morgan Hill. Art grew up in South County and attended area schools. He volunteers at local nonprofits and is proud to be a 12-year volunteer track and field coach at San Benito High School.
Joe is a recent graduate of UC Irvine with a BS in public health, he is taking a gap year to engage in meaningful work that gives back to the community, and his term at Rebuilding Together has been time well spent. Following his term, he hopes to pursue graduate studies to obtain his Masters in Public Health and eventually work in epidemiology. Joe is crazy about soccer, so in his spare time, you might see him playing soccer, watching soccer, or playing video games about soccer. He also loves most outdoor activities and eating.
